I had a thought of giving the Alliance Managers a little more responsibility and giving the alliances a way to differentiate themselves a little more.

I propose giving the Alliance Managers control over marketing, staffing, and all the other associated fees. The alliance rating would be based off of how the Alliance Managers decide to spend alliance fees on marketing and staffing. Also, depending on the alliance rating, a small CI boost for each airline in the alliance.

Another feature that might be nice is to enable alliances to buy aircraft to only lease to members. When the alliance is done with the aircraft, they can sell it on the open market but, not to alliance members. Each plane would be leased at a set discount from market rate. The income from the leases and sales would either go into the alliance's account or distributed among each airline equally.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

1. For the CI boost, my understanding is that membership in an alliance gives you an "invisible" CI boost when the route calculations happen depending on your alliance's ratings.

2. For the shuffling of deck chairs on the titanic, running an alliance is not an easy job when you have a lot of players. Managers are already spending more time and effort above and beyond simply playing the game, so this would add to that comparative burden. Additionally, since alliance scoring is based upon how well airlines in the alliance do in aggregate, their time is better spent on that...

How about having different roles in alliance?
