"Force Majure" from events - doesn't seem fair! Glitch?

Just had the stock market crash event in the USA. My airline is based in LHR with 90% of my traffic to the US. This event takes traffic down 25% - thats fair enough - i get that. Just wondering why it caused 75% of my flights to be cancelled and traffic down from 190k pax to 40k due to "Force majure" - doesn't seem fair that that event such as this would cause mass flight cancellations!?

Is this a glitch?
