hi i am in game 2 and i am about to start an
alliance so who wants to be a founding member
just say yes and ur airline nom  :D

DJRobbieD

No - Supra Jet

I would love too, but im in iDiscover, with my partner airline iCook airways, i cant turn my back on them,

Why dont you apply to join?

Robbie

EAT CEO

Without sounding too harsh, but I personally would never join an alliance led by someone who can't be bothered typing in proper English. I'm rather non-plussed when it comes to using txtspk outside of a mobile phone.

Tarkan

That is down right harsh. I can't see the reason for you to make such an absolutely uncalled for remark. He's advertising an airline alliance so I fail to see the connection with using text speak >:(

The connection is that currently darthlukes message comes across as something as: "I'm darthluke and I'm 10 years old. Can you come out and play?", while typing the same message in regular English would make it come across as: "Let's make a pretend alliance between our pretend airlines and write pretend press releases detailing our pretend success in the pretend business."

Is there really any need for sarcastic comments?  I dont think so - personally give the lad a break - instead of subjecting him to ridicule, why not encourage him instead!!!

I totally agree, whats wrong scared of a little competion from a ten year old who's just trying to have some fun and make new friends.

Try putting more energy into being friendly, it's good for your health.

And I would liek to point also that not everyone on here has English as their first language, and text speak is the new language of the young, s
o I suggest that you just get used to it, welcome to the real world in the virtual world.

Have a nice day.

I  did not mean to ridicule anyone and am sorry if it seems I did. Personally I think darthluke seems like a nice guy and he is really enthusiastic about the game which is pretty much what it comes down to on this forum. However, if you want people to understand you and take you seriously you have to try and make your message easy to understand. That is where things like standard spelling of words, punctuation and capitalisation, and breaking longer texts into paragraphs come into play. Not even trying to follow basic English grammar and spelling is lazy and inconsiderate towards those you expect to read the message. And to save someone the trouble of pointing this out: yes, I understand that we all make spelling and typing mistakes sometimes, some people have dyslexia, and not all people are native English speakers (including me).

I am 31 years old and English by birth but I now live in France, and because I use more French than English my English has suffered teribly and trust me it's awful (I have a degree in English language) which makes it all the more worse.

I understood his message along with everyone else, but we are just going to have to accept that people speak and write differently now.

As for the text speak this is just the way that English kids communicate now, I have two nephews below the age of 10 and they write better and faster in text language than I could ever write in ful English, it's just the way that the English language evolves. The English language just never stops evolving and being used differently.

All in all I blame the schools, they should be ensuring that kids especially at 10 years old are able to read and write correctly and to teach them when it is right to use text speech (witrh friends for example) and when to use "Queens English" ( when communicating with others) a bit like here in France where you use the formal and informal depending on who you are talking to.

Ok end of War and Peace.

have fun guys

DJRobbieD

Would you listen to yourselves!!!!

Have you seriously got nothing better to do than to have a "pop" at the way some1 writes???

This is a game for everyone.... and if he is 10years old, He has brought tokens and has as much right to this game than any1 else!!!

GET A LIFE!

And spend more of your time doing things to make the world better, rather than creating a divide!!!
