B Checks and schedules

Hi,

I have an aircraft which arrives back at base at 23:20 daily (It is a 747-200) and is ready to depart again at 1:20. Saturday is the quietest day for this flight, so want to schedule my B check on the last Sat of the month. 00:00-00:00.

If I schedule a B check to take place on a Saturday, does this impact Friday's flight? as whilst the aircraft is on the ground at the airport is it unavailable for the check to start until 01:20, or does the clock start ticking at 12:00, as the plane is already on the ground? Should I schedule it 01:20- 1:20 so it is ready for it's 06:00 Sunday departure?

Thanks

You should schedule the plane's B check at 1.20, however, the time when it 'can depart again' is the minimum return time, so you should always, at least, that's what I do, make sure that the 'probability of delay due to too quick turn-around' is below 5%, which it will not be if you schedule the B check at 1.20.

You got my point?  :-[ 8)
