Airport Demand???
« on: May 26, 2015, 10:26:38 PM »
I am headquartered in Oslo with another airline, together we have opened routes to every destination where the PAX let's us.
That's about 5.2 mill passengers a year, so where is the route demand???
Oslo have about 23 mill passengers IRL, and have plenty of flight's to the US, South America, Africa & Asia, And in the game we don't have A SINGLE FLIGHT TO ANY OF THOSE CONTINENTS??? >:(

What is wrong???  :'(

A very confused flight simmer and manager...

does it?

took a quick scan in today's arrival there is only -1- aircraft coming from north america, from JFK DY7002
most flight interconnect from large airport in europe.

the demand model is simulated from a previous database, and since the demand is so low the system calculate only 35-40 pax per day. it may rise in the future but def. not the airport to do LH operation.
since you are in europe you can open a base in larger airport and fly long haul flight.

Hi,

Norway is not a part of EU, so that's apparently not going to happen anytime soon!

That said, looking at the arrivals at Oslo, we have flights to Fort Lauderdale (788), San Francisco (788), Los Angeles (788), Newark Liberty Intl x2 daily dep (752 & A332), JFK x2 (788 & A332), We have Bangkok, Dubai & Doha with 777-300ER going every day with Emirates and Qatar...

I would know, I work at OSL...

Apology on the EU and norway, as I am not familiar on that. however...

looking at ITA, one way, search on june 9 -> one month non stop

we have flights to Fort Lauderdale (788) - twice every week
San Francisco (788) - empty
Los Angeles  - twice every week

I took another quick look in another gameworld that is in 2017 and jfk ewr sfo lax has more then 150 pax average per day. So I think it is quite reasonable.
I assume the reason you are seeing less demand is due to you are in a gameworld that is still in the 90's and demand has not grown to the point it has 150+ pax per day and pretty much you have to wait.

I'm not going to tell you that if you fly morning and evening flights on a route the pax demand will grow. That's a trade secret. Shhh.
