Accounting: Aircraft seating reconfiguration

I was wondering if it would not be better to have the aircraft reconfiguration fees taken out of maintenance (under operating expenses) and have it as its own category under Other Revenues / Expenses.  That way, the Operating results would not be affected by these one time charges.
