Another question about airport slots
« on: January 30, 2015, 02:31:42 AM »
Hi there,

I cannot think of a short name for this topic that describes the question I have, so I'll just post a question and I'm sorry for the inaccurate topics name!

My question is:
Let's say there are 20 free slots at an airport between 06-07 AM. Is it more likely to have delays if I plan 20 flights starting all at exactly 06 AM (thus taking all the available slots in this hour) than it is when I distribute the 20 flights along the hour? (say 4 flights every 10 minutes)

Also: Is it more likely to have more delay when I file a flight at 0630 AM (with 20 slots available at the airport) than when I file the flight at 0710 AM (with 30 free slots between 07-08 AM)?

Or are number of free slots and delays caused by the airports capacity completely unrelated?

Another question about weather delay: Is there any way to decrease the impact of weather on my routes? Or does weather 'just happen' and I cannot do anything about it?

- completely unrelated

Another question about weather delay: Is there any way to decrease the impact of weather on my routes? Or does weather 'just happen' and I cannot do anything about it?
- s*** Weather problems just happen you cant do anything about it

- IF ypu are planning multiple flights to the same destination ensure that you have departures 1 hour apart e.g. 6:00am, 7:00am, 9:00am ......otherwise the flights will be treated as just one flight and have a negative impact on your LF
- IF flights are to totally different destinations then they can all be scheduled for 6:00am departure with no issues (until you run out of 6:00am slots as not all slots in the 6:00am to 7:00am range can be used at 6:00am)

Thanks for your reply.

You said that not all slots between 06-07 AM can be used at 0600. How do I know how many of them can be used at 0600?
