European long haul airport (other then LHR)
« on: January 23, 2015, 06:16:09 PM »
Hi,
I would really like to explore possibillities of longhaul flights and 7 day schedule issue i have seen so many posts about.. But so far all airports i have checked in europe dont have much demand except LHR which is really not the only airport or gateway out of europe.

So any airport suggestions? And i would also like to know what aircraft is reccomended for longhaul where demand is 100 to 150 pax.. What confug etc..

I worked at airport in oslo and united operates a 757 OSL to EWR with 175 ttl seats any suggestions?

I am not too sure what is available in beginners world but here are my suggestions to your questions

1. What are you actually referring to as LH...greater than 3500Nm as an example
the reason I ask is that if you try to run 100 - 150 seat planes any further than that it is likely to b/k you (even in BW)

2. Boeing 767 / 777 or Airbus A330 / A340 are good LH options but you should be targeting routes with 250 pax minimum

3. To select a LH airport use the search function when you are required to select and airport
It prompts you to select the type of routes you want to fly and then gives you options, try to chose one with no player already there

PS - Not EU but check out PGUM or TJSJ as they are normally good LH options to 'practice' with

Persian gulf is a good place as well (Dubaï, Doha, Abu-Dhabi,...)
