The next large game world (GW#3 restart) - 22nd May 2014

Sami

The next scenario of our most popular theme, Modern Times, will begin again next week. The Game World #3 (Modern Times / Fly to the Future) is ending shortly and this scenario will then restart from the 1990s.

The new game world will feature new rules and features for base airports, making it more exciting for both large and small airlines playing in the scenario. The both major new features introduced some time ago, new accounting and world events, will be naturally also available in this scenario. Based on the user feedback we are hoping to extend the running time of this scenario all the way to 2030, depending still a bit on some technical aspects.

The estimated opening time for this scenario is Thursday 22nd May 2014, at approximately 14.00 UTC. That is 10am in New York, 15:00 in London and 23:00 in Tokyo.

Please remember that the scenario clock starts to tick only after 24 hours (on Friday 23rd) in order to give everyone plenty of time to join and make their airlines. The used aircraft market is also refreshed dozens of times during this first day so don't worry if you are unable to join at the very first minute.

And how long will it last? 1990-2040 would be cool  8)

Curse

Just 2030 would be a reason for me not to participate to be honest. There is no reason then to change to A350 etc.

Elladan

Yes, that's the biggest issue with end date now, what's the point replacing your fleet with modern birds if you're going to use them just for a few years? 2030 would be a borderline I guess, still marginally reasonable if you start replacement process early yet 2040 sounds so much better :)

Will this game feature any new planes such as the 781, 77X, etc?

Levy-Lumine

I am planning to take Hong Kong Airport as homebase, but I am wondering what will happen in 1998, as the airport moves to another location.

Will the routes be changed automaticly, or do I have to make and schedule all the routes all over again?
Does this change anything to my company or route image?

Yes, routes are moved automatically.

Infinity

All routes change automatically. Images do not change. The demand on some routes may shift so that you are oversupplying it, this happens for example when Seoul Gimpo switches to Incheon. Demand on the Seoul-Manchester route halves. Those are exceptions however, most of the demand either stays as it is or even grows.

Curse

Sami, can you give us please a bit more concrete information? When will the game start and when will it end? Are the prototypes you wanted (777X etc.) in it? All of them? If so, which ones?

Would also be nice if you could give a rough idea of it's a high slot/high demand game like GW#3 was or so.

Thanks a lot! :)

Jackson

2030 is ok. 2040 makes more sense as mentioned above. Would be great to have B77X. 3h 42 mins left ;D

NovemberCharlie

Two (related) questions:
1. Is there any news on the prototypes?
2. Would these become available in other gameworlds?

Hope it is coming together :)

Curse

1. 777X

2. That would be awesome if you (sami) could add the 777X etc. to GameWorld#4!

next large game world

The current Game World #2 is about to end in about one month, and according to our normal game world rotation policy a new scenario will replace it soon.

The new scenario will be again a long world that starts in the 1950s or 1960s and goes on all the way to the modern era and future.

Exact details of this scenario will be posted later but the estimated start time of this new large game scenario will be near to the end of this month. Details and exact starting time will be posted to the website news, our email newsletter and naturally to our Twitter and Facebook pages.
