Question regarding assets

I was given the understanding that airport slots is a part of non-current asset. So I am wandering why can't we use that as collateral for a bank loan? I mean as an asset slots are quite liquid and bares quite a lot appreciation potential as airports get more crowded.

I suppose they could be in the real world, but as, in the game at least, slots cannot be traded, it makes sense that they can't be used in this way.  If you were to default on the loan, the bank could NOT sell on the slot to recoup it's money.  Not in the game, anyway - and probably not in real life really come to think of it.
