expanding

Hi guys,

I am in a pickle here, i started a new company in dawn (last try).. I am making decent money now in a medium sized regional airport.
Now the problem is that with my 5 planes running at 90% there is no demand anymore, thus making it impossible to grow to 15 planes to open another base.
Is there any other way to have 15 planes, for instance buy 10 additional planes and lease them out ?
Or do you guys have another thing i missed so i can open my second base ?

Maarten Otto

No, there is not. Get the cheapest junk available (19 seaters or so) and open your second base.  ;)

Don´t open at bases before you have a clear oversight over it´s business potential.Don´t open anywhere where you don´t have use for more than 15 aircrafts.
This is a planning game and basing without planning results in your situation.

Daffers

Good luck finding a base like that in the game i am playing in, this was my only chance for real profit.
Now making good profit and i am leasing out 5 planes already.
So i am getting there!

LemonButt

Looks like he BK'd and left the game...

Daffers

No, still in the game, making 2million a week.. still not able to expand though!
Still 3 more planes to buy and lease out.

I c that they have to be in operation, lol what kind of stupid rule is this, makes it completely impossible for newcombers.. making a lot of profit finally because this is the only airport where i won't get crushed by competition, and now i cannot expand, this is my last try also.
So this is where the game stops for me although i am making lot's of profit ?
What a bs. this rule makes it impossible to start at a small airport while these are the only ones left in this crowded world, in theory it is impossible to start a regional airline because there is no room to grow.
guess i will have to quit then, growth is impossible.. too bad

Sanabas

MT has under 400 airlines. I can't see yours, because I don't have an airline and I'm not mentoring anyone in that world. But I guarantee there are at least 100 airports where you could start a regional airline, running medium planes, and make a decent profit.

Where are you based that is giving you more than 2 million a week in profit, even though it's so small you can't operate 15 planes? What sort of planes are you actually using?

If you're making 2 million a week, just lease in planes you can use at your new base and run them on any old route, then rebase them as soon as you have opened up the new base

He's basing in EFOU/OUL (Finland) since 2010, and have a fleet of 5 leasing ATRs, with another 6 leased out ATRs. His CV is 155M, which means he's got enough cash to order more A/C and get another base

Daffers, I know there are players just park A/C in the HQ to meet the "requirement"

Pretty sure leased out A/C isn't counted toward your fleet size

Edit: Just looked at your 1800 demand EFOU-EFHK route, and surprised you don't have any flights there. You can pack in a few ATRs flying there only easily and still get pretty much full LF

Sanabas

OK, so pretty small airport. A quick look in BW suggests enough routes for at least 8 or 9 ATRs under 500 NM, plus however many you can put on the huge route to Helsinki. It coundle handle 5 planes itself, if there are slots. There are also a lot of 20-30 pax routes longer than that. Not great, but likely profitable. Don't think it would be abig problem to reach 15 ATRs. Or even add 5 smaller planes.

A small domestic airport with ~40% of pax from a single route definitely isn't a great place to start, and doesn't give you a lot of options. But there are definitely 100 bigger options where an all-ATR airline could be very profitable.

Daffers

k will try, this airport was suggested to me, because i bankrupted 3 times. gonna try to get some more planes and overcrowd my routes..
tnx!
