Why does an airport show open slots if it's closed at the time???? Doesn't make any sense...

Sanabas

It shouldn't. Which airport?

Sami

If an airport is closed during the night, then it is closed and does not have any slots for that time period.

So if that's the case (it's closed) should it show zero slots if the arrival time is during it's closed time period?

Sanabas

That doesn't make sense. Slots are only shown for departure times. If the departure time is during open hours, you see slots. If the departure time is during the curfew, you see 0 slots.

I think what you're suggesting is something like flying into an airport with a 0-6 curfew. Leave HQ at 2300, land at curfewed airport at 0415, depart at 0615, arrive at HQ at 1130. And you see slots available for both legs?

If that's the case, nothing wrong with that. There are 23xx slots available for you at HQ, there are 06xx slots available at the destination. If you try and create the route, you'll get an error message saying the destination airport is closed at your arrival time.

" Slots are only shown for departure times."  Why is this? At slot controlled airports you need a 'slot' for a departure AND an arrival??  If your arrival airport is closed at the time of your arrival, how can there be a slot available??

In AWS you don't need a slot for arrivals, but your arrival must be scheduled within airport operation hours...

The reason (as I once read around here) is to make the simulation easier... both slots will make things extremely complicated with no adding fun to the game at all...

For departures, you always need a slot, which of course are only available when airports are open.

Do not know what is still so complicated about this to you (?), but if the airport is closed at the time of arrival there are no slots to land or depart. (and for the sake of simplicity you need only a slot for departure, but still you cannot land if the airport is not open!)

You only need slots for departure, for simplicity.

You're not allowed to land at an airport when it's closed, and the game won't let you set up a flight that does so.
