Travelling to USA - get to see LAX, LAS, MIA & EYW
« on: February 26, 2013, 04:04:04 AM »
Hi All,

As a first time tourist to USA I am after some advice where to stay in LA?

Coming in I have accommodation at a LAX Hotel as I am traveling to Lake Havasu next morning, then Vegas, Miami and Key West, before heading back to LA (3 weeks later) :-)
But on the way home I have 2.5 days & 2 nights (Friday & Saturday nights) in LA .... too many hotels to chose from makes me confused ... so what is the best area / district for a first up tourist to stay?

Regards Darryl

Maybe someone local can give you a better advice.  During my one and only visit to LA area, I stayed at Shangri-La in Santa Monica:

I must have been there during their low season or something, and I got upgraded to this ridiculously luxurious suite, while paying (their) basic rate...

(If you haven't already come), then may I make a suggestion:

The Kimpton Boutique hotels in LA are very nice, and not too costly- I stayed at one when I came to LA on business not too long ago.

Depends on what you want really but I own a travel agency... I could give you some advices and a bit of help if you want. I'm not from the US so as far as things to see I know just as much as you do but I'm familiar with quite a few hotel chains in LA and Miami.

The Kimpton hotels are pretty good value for money and they also have a hotel in Miami.
The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes, decide everything
