tech problems - landing vs. flight hours

Hello!

is there correlation, that this is due high quantity landings, rather than flight hours? or age of 18 years is decicive factor?

First, there is a random that lays off all aircraft from time to time for technical reasons.
Most important factor when aircraft fails more than usual is the technical shape it´s in. Try to keep all your birds above 80%.
This percentage is more likely to decline faster if plane is older and intensively used (like in real life I think more landings impact heavier on shape than just flying). Fleet age overall impacts somewhat on your CI.
If plane is in worse shape than 80% it might be useful to do a due check earlier than scheduled or give it a special repair.

I have a 97% condition throughout my fleet and still get one in three hundred flights cancelled for technicals. There is no way to eliminate that.

yep, likewise, I keep mine well-maintained and still suffer random % of cancels, total minutes lost in delays rarely gets above single figures : there does seem to be a rough correlation with a slight increase just before b-check week, but I guess its the equivalent of the busted bulb in the tail-light on your car... it happens even to the best-cared for motor.
