Hi!

I just saw today that a new airline in Copenhagen is called Maersk! Well, Maersk is still a company, so this is wrong right?

1. Russian Air Lines by Tim (JA1) - Same exact logo as Aeroflot (with the name altered)

2. Vietnam Airlines by NIK (ATB).

In my defence my Vietnam Airways its not named after, based on or shares any logo/colours of Vietnam Airlines. I didn't even remember about them when i named it. I just have no imagination  ;)

The logo indeed is not very creative but the logo as a whole is allowed. Aeroflot copyrighted the logo as you put it on and in normal Latin script. So I guess using the hammer and sickle and the flag is allowed. They also copyrighted the Logo in combination with the slogan 'Sincerely yours," so again that one is allowed to be used seperated from the logo.

Don't know if this counts but ROYAL CHANG, i guess most of you should know him ;), has the logo of a Thai beer company. I was in the supermarket the other day and I saw Chang Beer. Then BANG, i recalled Royal Chang. wow, how uncreative.....He basically altered the logo by removing "Beer".

if you remove royal from that name - its still refers to real name
and also that logo looks like logo that appeared on british airway planes which had UK flag attached to tail
see here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:BA_747_BKK.jpg - present logo which airlines carry now
plus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Planes_Hawker_siddeley_Trident_3b.jpg - see the tail logo - this one is older one

Sami

The logo is not even close to a logo of the current airline nor their livery. It's the British flag on the airline's logo...

And since it contains the name of the nation / country it is not the same thing like "Royal Easyjet" in my mind.

Sami

wouldn't see that as a problem either as company was only alive 2 years and had planes and is defuct already.

Pretty sure the former CEO/founders would say differently, sami. Don't want you getting into trouble.

Also, the ExcellAir alliance ( https://www.airwaysim.com/game/Info/Alliance/View/2/ ) is using the XL.com logo, which is still being used by the company: http://www.xl.com/
