Sunday-Sunday in 12 days
« on: January 13, 2012, 03:16:13 PM »
Hi folks.

A bit off-topic, but important to me:

"A woman goes on holiday for 12 days. She leaves on Sunday and comes back on Sunday. How does it work?"

Does anybody know this one?

I solved the other one with Sunday to Sunday in 10 days. But I am stuck here. She will cook for me if I solve it during the next 3 hours... ;-) Thank folks.

Cheers,
Denis

A person flies from LAX to NRT...

Let's say he leaves LAX at 2300 Sunday Pacific Standard time.   He will arrive at 0600 on Tuesday Narita Time (as he crossed the int'l date line).

First five full days Wed 0600  + Thu 0600 + Fri 0600 + Sat 0600 + Sun 0600
Second seven full days   Mon 0600 + Tue 0600+ Wed 0600  + Thu 0600 + Fri 0600 + Sat 0600 + Sun 0600

Depart on Sunday Narita Time....  doesn't mention when you get back.

No love Denis?  Did you get dinner at least?

From dinner with love! But I didn't like that horse thing and rather find the scheduling the right thing to do. So there is a good reason for a long discussion and a bottle of wine. I sent your solution approach to her and will not step down until she drops the horse thing. ;-)

Actually I approached the scheduling by calculating a stop-over in Samoa, as they skipped Dec 30th 2011 and then cross the date line, as Jan 1st 2012 was a Sunday... But still gotta figure that one out.

Cheers and thanks for the dinner,
Denis
