Not enough turn around time delay

Hello, I'm suffering from a delay problem I'm not sure how to solve.

As stated in the topic its due to not enough turn around time for my flight. I've already started the game with turn around time about 45 minutes which  say gives 0% delay but turn around was still 50% of my delays. I increased the turn around about a game month ago to 60 minutes, the delay back then was 103 minutes but now the delay increased to 131 minutes and is 27% of my delay.

The aircraft is flying 3 flights with 10 minutes between each flight, would be very grateful if anyone could advise me on a solution.

edit: delay due to turn around is now 169 minutes one game day later it is spread between the last two flights.

the solution is pretty easy; increase the time between flights.

To explain, if you have  flight set up from A-B-C-B-A, then you are going to need time to clean and refuel, board and de-plane.

If you're using a plane whose default is 60 minute turn around time, your total turn time for the route is going to be 4 hours.  The turn around time at its default is about 25% chance of delay.

If you bump the turn time up to 90 minutes it will drop to abot 5% delay.  On the other hand, you're increasing your turn time (non-flying) to 6 hours.

To preent delays, increase the amount of time you plan for the turn time.

Also, when your flight gets back to point A, don't stack the next departure right up on it.  Why? because there is only the default turn time set into the sechedule.

Good luck

That could be your problem? Too short turn times at hub? xxx-xxx is 0600-0800-1 hr turn- 900-1100.  next flt is  xxx-xxx 1110-1300-1 hr turn-1400-1600.

1.) Thats not possible. Your next flt has to have the min amount of time to "turn" the aircraft. So if the min time is 35min then you cant set the next flight for that aircraft till 1135. As opposed to setting the next flight @ 1110 (10 min inbetween.)

2.) With that said, thats not good to set low turn times at your hub. Your not giving your self enough time to turn the aircraft at your base. If you have a 1 hour turn at an "out station" but only 35min in your hub, its going to cause mass delays for your end of the day flights. Because sure, the 1st flight leaves on time, but when it comes back to the hub and gets ready for the next flight, the chance of it leaving late is high because of short-turnarounds. Thus, you have a "rolling" effect all day long.

In fact, its strongly recommended to give your self more turn time at your hub, then at an "out station".  Thus, your delays will be reduced by a good margin.

So.. your flts would look something like this: flt001 xxx-xxx 0600-0800-45min turn-0845-1045 "1 hr turn" flt002 xxx-xxx 1145-1400 ect...

Hopefully this helps,

ahhh i see, thank you both for the quick detailed replies, i was under the impression that the flight time in schedules already included the turn around, i'll make the adjustment now

The blue line in the Schedule-window does include the minimum turn-around time, but you should always have some more after that. So, if you have an airplane that has minimum turn-around time of 35 mins, and the first route for the day returns at 11:00, the schedule will show that you can depart earliest at 11:35. However, you shouldn't depart just then, as then you have that 25% chance for delay. Instead, postpone the departure of the next flight by some 10-30 minutes to get the propability down below 10% (you see the propability when creating the route, and there you can see that for example with 50 minute turn-around the delay% is 10. So, when creating the 2nd route of the day, make the 2nd flight depart 50 minutes after the 1st one arrived (15 minutes after the 1st possible departure-time), so in this case at 11:50.
