When you order new aircraft do you pay the monthly leasing fees before the planes arrive if it takes longer than 4 months?

hello

when you lease an aircraft, you pre-pay 4 months. Therefore, you will start paying a monthly lease 4 month after delivery of the aircraft.

If it's a new a/c and takes more than 4 month to get in, you don't pay in the meantime ;-). It's after delivery.

hope this helps

kind regards

Slight correction:  You start paying (using your prepaid funds first) after the earliest delivery date of wherever you are getting it.  So if you delay your delivery for 6 weeks, meaning you are taking delivery in 8 or 9 weeks from order date (on a used one), you will pay for that delay.

Only one thing to add to the above... If you delay an aircraft's arrival, you also delay paying maintenance, crew fees, the need to add new routes and personnel, etc. Sometimes these savings help warrant delaying an aircrafts arrival.
