how to keep slots

I'm moving stuff around and waiting for a new aircraft in about 3 months. I don't want to lose some slots though that I have bought previously.

Is in sufficient to fly each unused slot just once in the two months, to stop the slot being taken off me?

Cheers ! Simon

In short: yes.

This is common practice to keep slots. There is only so long you can do this for before it becomes illegal/immoral. In fact not sure if this method is all above board anyway. But your best bet is to move the schedules around before the two months is up just to hold onto them for that extra month.

The max allowed time for slots being unused is 2 months, so keeping them for 3 months by some tricks is basically against the rules. But you do have the clear intention of using them and have used in the past so it's nothing "bad" then.

I would suggest to move the schedules around so that each route is flown at least 1 week in a row, or otherwise try to actively still use all of the routes/slots.

Watch out in the way you do it! If you use EMB-120 in LHR or so you might get hated amongst airlines sitting there and many others
