Opening of Houston (IAH) in JetAge

Do airlines based at Houston-Hobby have the option of staying at Hobby or are they required to move to IAH when it opens?

I'm based in Hobby in the DOTM game and the year is 1988, so I guess in game at least, the airport remains operational.

You would only get transferred to the newly opening base if yours closes and it's a replacement.

Do you have any knowledge of the real situation between these two airports? If so I would love to hear it, thanks.

IRL, everybody moved to IAH when it opened, but Hobby re-allowed for domestic operations in 1971 (I think). Currently, low cost carriers (including SW) use Hobby, while larger carriers use IAH.

I'm pretty sure Sami didn't code in the brief period where Hobby was closed. I doubt you'll be moved.

That is correct, it is indeed not coded. Although I did update IAH in master database to reflect the historical changes. Whenever the system goes live, it should work

i was indeed not moved, nor given the option to do so....which is kinda lame considering the history...oh well, now I know
