New aircraft order slot

Hi,

Can someone explain to me how the production slots are allocated to new aircraft orders...

I've over about 25 aircrafts, and the system automatically assigns me production delivery dates... I understand that the delivery date is subject to change.. For most order, I would imagine folks would want their planes sooner rather than later.

When I look at the actual production schedule for the aircraft, I noticed that there are some earlier "Free Production delivery slots" that are earlier delivery that those that were assigned to my aircraft..

Is there anyway to request the earlier slot deilvery?

My understanding is that those remain open in order to facilitate other players making orders and not being pushed all the way to the back of the queue.

The delivery of aircraft to a single player/airline is based on a (minimum) time interval.

There has been lengthy discussion on this subject in the past, this is just what I remember from back then.

I also remember that I was one of a few players that, under some circumstances, preferred not to receive aircraft earlier than scheduled as this cost mega-bucks when trying to replace an aging fleet, but that is not exactly what your question is about, only slightly related.

Best Regards

When you place an order you receive every Xth slot.  Just how many slots are between your deliveries depends on the production rate, but it works out to roughly a delivery every 3-5 weeks.

This is a means of slowing airline growth and keeping a minority of very good players from monopolizing an entire model's production all for themselves.  You cannot request an earlier slot.  And any subsequent orders you put in will automatically go to the end of any existing orders you've got.

If you want more planes you need to look at other models.  And that of course has commonality implications.

This is actually quite realistic. I'm not sure about the exact time in between deliveries, but in RL you are easily talking about several weeks or maybe months. There are more than 30 B737s manufactured each month. That's a whole lot of airplanes if you would receive them all in one month!

The delivery dates are probably part of the agreement with the respective manufacturer, and different for each airline. Something which is quite difficult (but not impossible I'd say) to simulate in AWS.
