Market share question

I am trying to figure out the market share calculation....

Let's say we have three competitors, and each one uses the same aircraft for a specific route.. does that mean we have 33% share of the available seats or the filled seats?

Said another way, if two of the three competitors fly at strange hours (2am), and the third competitor flies at peak hours 8am or 5pm, should the share for the 3rd competitor by higher?

Assuming that your Company Image, Route Image and price are the same...

Yes, assumes everything is constant (the same), is market share calculated based on available seats or filled seats (i.e. planes that fly at peak should have higher share?

Sami

(Market share is only a statistic that combines the PAST data on how many seats each airline has sold. In other words the system does not calculate market share, or load factor or anything similar, they are just the stats viewable by the user that are combined from the "how many seats sold on each flight" data.)

Just out of curiosity: what is the length of time (how many days) the system uses to get these market share figures?

Sami

7 or 14 days, can't remember directly which it was. Guessing it's the past 7 days.
