Hey guys, I've got an airplane on order new, a lease, I want to cancel it, but I'm only 3 months out roughly... is there no way to cancel the order at this point?

Daemus

When looking under Aircraft On Order, use the click to expand option for the Aircraft Type so you see the listing of individual planes on order. The planes of that Aircraft Type should be displayed and, if it can be canceled, there should be a check-box next to the plane that you can select and then, at the bottom of the list, a pull down menu next to the "With selected" text. Choose "Cancel orders" and press OK.

I have never actually canceled an order before but that seems like how you would have to do it. I don't know the limit on when you are committed, and cannot cancel an order any longer, but the check box is available still on a plane I have on order that is ~50 days out. That may be because I have multiple planes orders of that Aircraft type but, like I said, I have never canceled before and don't know the specifics behind what can and can't be canceled.

I hope that helped, and if not, I hope someone else comes along with a solution for you.

Cancellation is available -6 months from delivery date.

The checkbox is there because you can edit orders (config / base) up to ~1 month prior delivery still .. etc.  (see manual for details)

When cxling the order, do you get your money back?

Good call on looking at the Manual, Sami... I don't check it for answers to questions as often as I should.  :-[

Quote from: https://www.airwaysim.com/game/Manual/Aircraft/New/You can cancel the order no less than 6 months prior the delivery date. Cancellation will always mean a penalty for you - a loss of the down payment you have made (or part of it). If you have leased the plane you will lose the whole down payment (5 month's lease). If you have purchased the aircraft you will lose 60% of the downpayment (or in other words you will get 40% of the downpayment back upon cancellation).

No

Ouch.

So shouldn't it say somewhere that this is a non-refundable deposit?  Is it the same if you lease as well as buy?

Read my quote from the manual, two posts above yours, catspaw27. ^^

I can't seem to cancel my 727s I leased - arrival in 2 weeks...? They are used.

I really don't care about losing my money. I just don't want to receive the a/cs at all.

The only way is to terminate the lease once you receive the A/C

That is ridiculous. I am sure you can cancel the order in real life, if you just make a phone call... Oh well.

Yes, you could call them in real life and cancel.

And then they would laugh at you and tell you to pay the fee to break the contract.  You can't just cancel an order for a plane 3 months before delivery without consequence.  At that stage they have 80% of an airplane built for you!
