Beginner's World Is Maybe Not Such A Friendly Place After-all.

Just learned the hard-way that Beginner's world is not such a friendly, and learning place as I was lead to believe. I got to 6 months, and thought that I would apply to join an Alliance. I picked the one with low-numbers, and it said it was recruiting so I applied. All I got back was a rejection, no reason, just a rejection. Now where I come from, people have the common decency to include a reason with a rejection.

So it would seem that maybe some of these Alliances are really just acting like exclusive clubs, and maybe getting a bit 'up themselves'. So I now have this idea of starting a 'newby friendly' Alliance. This Alliance would only reject newbies if it was full, and tell them so if it had to reject. So I need 2 other founding players to start this Alliance, so if you are interested just PM me.

Thanks Skyrat.

Sometimes alliances can get a bit snooty.  Don't worry though.  I was turned down by SkyGroup the first time I ever applied to an alliance.  I felt pretty bad.  Yet a year later, I'm a managing member of GlobalSky, a collaboration between SkyGroup and GlobalTeam.  Sometimes alliances just want experience.

I actually feel pretty bad myself, as I once (as manager of GlobalTeam) turned down two newbies on the suggestion of one of my fellow managers, as they didn't post on the forums and had pretty weak airlines.  They turned out to be really nice people that just needed a little bit of experience.  Now they're members of GlobalSky and have good standing.

Bottom line, don't feel discouraged.  Your time will come.  :)

There's no text field included for adding a reason there, could add it possibly, so it would have required them to PM you. Don't know if that's a standard policy or not.

Probably alliance didn't want you as you overlapped their another member's routes/bases etc?

I send personal reply's for both inviting and rejecting potential, future alliance members.

Just the way I go about business I guess.

Thanks People for your reassurances, it would appear that this game is played with a decent spirit after all. That my experience is not the norm, and I just applied to the wrong Alliance. But I think that I will leave the Alliances alone, and just concentrate on learning this amazing game.

Skyrat: I'm sorry that the Jet Sky management did not inform you as to why you were rejected; It was because of small fleet size (9) and low company value. When either of those changes, I would love to have you join us!

Again, my apologies for the lack of communication.

Thank you twistedraisin for the explanation, and your apology is excepted. It is hard I think to start so late in a game-world, it is a real challenge just to stay afloat, little-on building into a large Airline. My plan is only to stay in Beginner's World now unit the next game-world starts. So now that I know that Alliances only except large Airlines, and that code-sharing doesn't work anyway, I won't be joining any Alliances.

Thank you Skyrat.

Don't be discouraged.  I think alliances are very worthwhile.  You can make "friends" cause you have a private forum for your alliance.  They can give you good advice, too.  Everybody (there are one or two exceptions I can think of) is nice, because that's just human nature (I'm definitely a Locke-ian  ;D for those History buffs).  I personally think it adds enjoyment to the game.

Add to the fact that when sami does get code sharing or interlining working (and multi-stop routing, I suppose), alliances will be much more valuable, and making some friends/acquaintances now could help you very much in the future!

I saw a man get stabbed in the Beginner's World all over a piece of bread.  It's a lot rougher in there than I originally thought.
