Subsidiaries Lines

Could it be possible to create sudsidiaried lines? I mean, If I have a fleet that only flies domestic routes and other that makes Longhould routes, for bether administration, could it be possible to created like groups. Example:

Main: Alas Argentinas (International)
Fleet:
-
-
-
-
Sub.: AAs National (Regional)
Fleet:
-
-
-
-
Sub.: AAs Express (Special routes)
Fleet:
-
-

The only difference betwen those lines is the organization in groups (Financial view of the groups, aircraft list)

a better overview of our fleet. If you have 250 aircrafts and you want to raise the prices of only the domestic flights it can be very hard to find them all.
It would be also nicer than only a button that does it. And you could see the balance of each group separatly.

I like this Idea.

It would also be good for like having all economy or all business class.

and the customer ratings wont directly effect the main airline if the subsidery is good or bad.

Yup, a good example is Alitalia, and it's subsidary, Alitalia Express.

We should be able to make subs', but it should be restricted in what we can do. It would be a great feature, and very good one at that (especially in the 'realism' factor), but i really think their should be some sort of restriction when it comes to new Airline Ventures, as subsidaries can include seperate airlines.

Good example is Tiger Airways (LCC Based in Singapore), They fly from Singapore, have a Subsidary airline flying in Australia (Tiger Airways Australia) and are starting a new LCC Subsidary in Korea (Incheon Tiger or something like that).

Restrictions are needed, to protect other airlines from foriegn airlines seeking to make use of the home countries market... don't know how you could do that (Restrictions of frequencies? slots?)

We should make it that the sub. the same HQ has as the main line... or at least you can choose a domestic hub for it, but im not sure if it would be good (Better only 1 HQ)... Like Lovebus says, it would kill smaller airlines...

Well, HUBs should be restricted to Home Countries in the first place.

International HUB's should come under great restriction, as we all know that it can really effect other countries airlines (and in real life, they have restrictions and regulations regarding this anyway). Things can be used to fix this problem up, such as the foriegn airline can only own 49% of the airline (this means some form of partnership with another airline), Restictions on slots and hours/destinations etc... The list goes on.

Like Naio90 said, Subsidaries should be limited to the Home country, whilst International Subsidaries (Separately based airlines) should go under the "International HUB's rules".. All just my opinion though.

Me likes the idea, would make the game real realistic as many airlines have subs for different reasons; domestic, regional, intercontinental.

I agree. If you start in the game with domestic/regional groups and later try to expand to international routes, the cost structures and yields of the two are very different. When conditions change (like fuel prices) it's important to be able to adjust prices. But the small/regional part of the airline is much more sensitive to price changes than the larger aircraft fleets so you have to adjust everything individually and the global price tool becomes useless.

Exactly, I think either this idea or seperate buttons for price settings on international/ domestic routes.
Like has been said, regional/domestic routes are far more price sensative than internationals; so it would be great to be able to differentiate between the two when setting prices.

I've always had the idea of when you need to reset prices to default (ie: fuel has gone up, so you will default all routes again) that you should be able to reset a portion of your routes, instead of the whole lot or setting route prices individually.
Maybe a check box sort of thing (like in the message inbox) and then a button down the bottom so you can target specific markets with price rises more easily:)

Wow.... this thread is ancient. I feels like a totally different person wrote those comments... and not me. :laugh:

...and subsideries also for sure could lower costs.... for example, for many airlines, it would reduce costs to have only mainline planes flying for your main airline and only regionals for your subsidery airline.

would totally help your costs! I've seen (and heard) airlines that have many different fleet types for different reasons, and they eventually go bust because the costs are too great. :P
