Essentially, these planes are the same.  Why is the NEWER version of the plane 7.7% LESS efficient while only flying 5.2% faster?

I would say thats why in the real-world the 737-600 has sold very little, sales being tiny.
It is in my opinion because it uses the same engines as its larger counterparts which are the ones that should be favored.

Because it uses the same engine (with derated thrust), wings and landing gear as the much larger -800s. Therefore it's much heavier than the -500s.

Example: -500 vs -600
Operating empty weight: 31.300kg vs 36.300 kg
Wingsapan 28.9meters vs 35.7 meters

The weird thing is that 737-600 has the same engine as 700 through 900, has much lower weight, yet the fuel consumption is higher than 700 through 900.

Depends on who is ordering them and how many they order!  Prices are not fixed in this game.  In Jet Age, they are exactly the same right now.

In MT2 the -600's will be about 100k cheaper for me in lease price than the -700's.  I was "approximately" a launch customer for both.

736 sorta p***es me off. Its not a bad plane... but the 73G (737-700) is just way better. Slightly less fuel burn, way larger ranger +6 more seats.

Im replacing all my 736s with them.

I think malev, astrian and sas fly them in real life. Made to replace the fokker 100's. Always climb well.  Lots of power in a  little plane-
