Ok this is huge to implement, but I think it can be very interesting and it can also make the game really unique.

There should be a "charter flights" page, where you can see a list of charter flights request, eg:
LHR to RMF, every Sat from March 14th to October 1st, for 180 pax, 55,000 USD/leg. Penalty 5000000 USD.

If you accept it, you must make sure you organize the flight. The flight will not generate "standard" revenue based on LF, so it will not be affected by passenger request rules: you will just receive that particular fixed income.

What do you think?

Mh, I don't know... The money tha we win with that "mission" should be very very hight, more than it would by by logic.. I mean, a good earning Airline would not care to earn 60.000 USD once extra.. its not worth

Yes, a "Good running airline" wouldn't care about 60K extra a month, since thats a drop in the pond.

But This sure would help the Smaller airlines, and airlines aiming at Charter Flights. In the real world you have Charter Airlines (solely charter) which are either Sole Charter Airlines, or Major Airlines leasing their aircraft out.

I really think this idea should be put on the possible list. It is very hard to implement (i can only imagine), but it's a really good idea and suggestion.

It would be adding a whole new dimension to the Game. And I wouldn't mind writing some of my aircraft down to fly Aid-Flights to Parts of Africa and asia to deliver food and aid..  8)

Yeah, been thinking of that already about just like Claudio suggested. But not a top priority feature.

sounds like Airline Tycoon to me

Guess it will be hard to implement. Who will be issuing those charters? I can only think of random generated charter flights by the system. Maybe; you can decide if an aircraft can be leased for charter propose. A computer-controlled entity will be using your aircraft for a montly fee?

Well, Depends.. IMO, The airline who wants to take up one of these generated Charters should have to sign a contract, that says the airline will follow the requirements of that certain Charter. So the charter might last 3 weeks, 3 months.. Anything into past a few years i believe should go under a Lease.. it's a rarity to have a few years charter, but not unrealistic.. It might be flying people out of a war-ravished country, not only people but Cargo or aid...

A Charter should, i believe, be sheduled and flown under your own decision, As long as it follows the Charter-Requirements it should all go good.

Probally Computer Generated Charters at Random, but im sure their will be some form of human interaction with the creation of Charters? Mayby you need to charter a 747-400 for a few days because one of your aircraft(s) is grounded etc..

Well a bit like Airline Tycoon but not quite. As there all the charters are individual flights but in real life travel agencies usually order flight series. For example, "transit every week 200 people from Amsterdam to Las Palmas and back, between 01.05 and 01.07".

Charters would be game-generated. But there must be some manual configuration made so that the routes are at least somewhat realistic. Haven't thought this yet at all.

Seasonal flights would be needed when a more advanced seasonal passenger system is added.

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 90 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.

Was going to do a reply but got message above so started new topic. my ideas for charter

1/Pc generated contracts for 1 month, 6 month or 12 month charters.

2/Not restricted to flights from hub but remember those positioning flights cost money so it's in your interest to stay local.

3/Money paid on succesfull completion of contract- this would penalise companies not satisfying charters.

4/Seasonal charters winter skiing and summer/winter sun holiday charters.

p.s  sorry just realised i put this into wrong forum

5/oh yeh and cargo ;)

Well would have preferred the old thread actually rather than splitting this to another topic of the same issue .. And even the wrong forum ;)

Anyway .. that all sounds like a plan.

I'm brand new here. Nonetheless, I shall offer up my desire to see a charter system in the game.

In my quest to find an interesting and challenging aviation business management sim, Airwaysim seems to be best. However, I am so disappointed at a lack of any sort of business jet/charter system. Big long haulers are just flat out boring and NOT COOL compared to small sexy business jets and turbo props IMHO. Also, I was ultimately hoping to find a sim that would allow me to carve out an empire of charter aircraft spreading throughout the country. Some might say micro-management hell, but to me, it would be aviation nirvana.

A system for charter demand that involves prices and seating that would make running sweet business aircraft like Pilatus PC-24 or Soccata TBM series aircraft profitable (maybe not competitive with people trying to be the biggest income earners in the world) would be so cool for those like me who find a world of only Boeings/Airbuses/De Havilland dashes pretty boring and missing an entire segment of the modern aviation industry.

I'll also add that, according to Wikipedia, there are over 15,000 business jets available for charter worldwide. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_charter)

Wet/Dry Lease

I'll expand on this a bit, but why not allow wet or dry leasing with our spare aircraft?
