Passenger demand at special cities

How is the passenger model build?

Is there a start date (for example: 1st January 1990) and then demand grows only by flying the routes etc.?

Or is there a model for special cities, for example Brasilia? It was a small village in the middle of nowhere and nobody wants to go there. But in the 1990s it became a fast growing city with a huge demand (compared to ten years ago).

Some cities in China and the middle east are special cities like this, too, but there was never an airport change (what grows up demand in AWS as far as I know).

In short:
Can I expect, based at Brasilia, huge growing demand as in reality or is it the standard AWS increase?

Demand growth model is global, it will be country-specific later on, but there's no chance to build it city-specific as .. well, think of how many cities there are worldwide. ;)
