When/Why do pax actually start to prefer bigger planes?

It is known that in this game pax prefer smaller planes on short routes.

But, after how many hours of flying do they prefer a bigger plane?

Thanks,

In my experience you never really hit that limit because their preference extends further than the range of smaller aircraft (at least most of them).

In other words, they may not prefer a Fokker 100 for 2500NM, but it doesn't matter because you can't go that far.  I guarantee you from extensive experience that they'll prefer it for as far as you can fly it.  And they may not prefer an A321 for 8000NM, but again, they'll prefer it over a DC10 for as far as you can make an A321 go.

With the speed of props, it may be possible to hit that preference limit on flight time before the range limit of the plane is hit.  But I never fly props, so I don't know.  But, if I were to guess, you're looking at roughly 3hrs flight time.

Curse

Flying a Fokker 50 from Palma de Mallorca to Billund (1004) gives the F50 ~40Pax (58y HD), competitor flys an B732 (120y setting), my route CI is 53, demand for the route ~125 pax.
Flight time: 4:40hr

wouldn't pax prefer a bigger plane for a 4 hour segment? I mean, If I had to fly 4 hours, I would prefer an A330 over an A321 due to it being more spacious

Curse

I'm sure in real life pax would prefer every other plane than an loud, fluttery and scrappy Fokker F50... even it's a 50 year old Tupolev, flown and maintenanced by Air Somalia.  ;)

But in AWS it's like I postet...

A result of this is the flooding of Bombardier CRJ100 (etc.) in Euro Challenge #2... and they compete not bad (even) on longer routes in this scenario agains A320/A321.

I think that the system should be updated so that for flights more than 2.5 hours pax prefer bigger planes
