I recommend NOT painting on the layer that says "Paint Here" and just create new layers on top of it while using the "Paint Here" layer as a clipping mask.  This means makes things much easier

I did a quick check yesterday, and airbus have a lot of drawings on their website.

If you have autocad, there is a site that has some Boeing drawings as well, if not, try cben net and you might find some there.
