I was looking at the map to schedule flights and stuff and I noticed we have no airports in Turkmenistan in the game .... Anyone has some data?

TURKMENISTAN .... not Turkey. I am looking in the Asia section of the pulldown menu and it is not there!

Very strange. I submited the data for Ashgabat! ::)

Here's the data (had to go find it again):

I know the difference between countries in that region, having been from there.

But sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you couldn't see it on the map, not the airports. :-\

I am sorry also for reacting that way .... kinda a miscommunication ...  ;D

But I was surprised not to see Turkmenistan as I was looking for connections to the stans for Somchai Airways. Most do not have enough pax though unfortunately :(

It's all good.

Trust me, I know how you feel. My base airport just got downgraded from large international to just boring, normal international. There goes my PAX to more than half of my flights.

I might declare bankruptcy or switch bases. It's a shame; I was doing so well and it took me so long to get to that. I'm sure and avid AirwaySim Beta Tester knows what I'm talking about- waking up in the middle of the night to receive planes, skipping classes to schedule flights on new destinations.  ;)

waerth

Well for work I am online most of the day anyway. So in between jobs (I am a professional application tester for some programmers amongst others) I can peak into this airline and my other airline in aviosim often and order planes when I have money immediately, thus not letting funds sit idly in my bankaccount. I do get behind on scheduling though ......  :-\ ..... as it takes a long time in this game and the other game. In the other game I have 2 B747-400D's and a couple of DC10's sitting idly. I just caught up a bit in this game today and only have 6 MD-83's and 4 ATR42's sitting idly. I already made a list with all possible destinations divided by model. Over 100 possibilities left ;D .

But I understand your mood having build an airline for some time only to see it all crash in around you. I would personally try and see if I could turn the tide. It seems one of my competitors at Bangkok has given up also :( it is a shame really as it is good to have competition. Well at least I am now dominating Bangkok in 2 games 8) ..... unfortunately I cannot reach my second goal in this game. Which is South East Asian dominance. In the other game I am close to that.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Lol

Anyway, I think my airline rebounded since OLBA's status changed. I've placed an order for some more Airbuses, and although my profit isn't as high as it was pre-change, it's getting close to it!

I wonder how everyone is taking the OLBA change? Cause I noticed that there's a lot of airlines flying into there.

waerth

The Olba change is not affecting me ;) I just connected to you! Hope to welcome Yalla pax on my flights and see Somchai pax go to Yalla's network!

Waerth

jagalubnan

Well the only way it's affected me is the reduction of PAX on ALL of my routes. Imagine flying an A330 with only 47% LF, when it used to be 97%!

Anyway, yeah I've been wanting to connect to Bangkok for a while now, as well as the entire Southeast but PAX demand is quite low, or at least it says that, to have a larger jet fly there.

I don't know if anyone else has the same issue, but most of the "predicted" demand is wrong and way off. For example, one of my routes says that it only has a PAX demand of 170, however I'm getting an almost full flight on an A330.

waerth

Same here, I am only using projected demand as a guideline now. I am trying things on gut feeling! How about a codeshare for our passengers :) .... I will be using OLBA as a refuelling hub probably for flights to the US or I will find a North African airport that can handle a 310's within 5200 NM from Bangkok.

I am actually very pleased with Somchai's African part of the network  ;D In reality there are only a few airports in Africa flown from Bangkok, but by using two legged routes (like the OLBA - Tunis one) I can still connect to many. Also the refuelling option helps to get smaller aircraft extended to far flung destinations. You should try the same in Asia ;)

Waerth

jagalubnan

Codeshare? Sounds good, just details please =]

OH YEAH! I totally forgot about the refueling option!! Cause I really wanted to use an A321 on longer flights, but they don't have the range. (They're my favorite plane  ;D)

My OLBA flight is doing the same as it was before :-\ ;D

Really? Lucky! Lol
A lot of my pax demand to destinations in Europe and Asia went down significantly.

Yeah it's no biggie, I've recovered quite well.  ;D ;D

Yep sorry for the change there - I had to update the airport db due to other reasons and that also affected that airport.
