you think DELTA is the best?!?! AF has all those on better planes and is not a US airline too, much better in my opinion. ;) Lufthansa and BA are better too. United is also better. American and Delta are both SH**.

Off the streets! Well I can't talk much about anything coming off the streets in Australia...most bad things you can think of.

This is off topic now...well more off topic than it already was:
You would never believe what had just happened to me (well it happened about an hour or so ago). I was in JA#3 looking at used aircraft. I saw a Boeing 747-200 there. I went for it straight away as all I could do in Sydney now was international flights then small pax turbo-prop flights. I looked at the stats...actually no i didn't i pressed the Lease button straight away (BAD THING TO DO!)...but I was just so excited! I was deciding a configuration out of the three that I had (410HD-Y, 24S-C, 5S-F or 320S-Y, 24S-C, 10S-F or another one, but not much profit out of that one). I looked at some Asia flights and saw that Bangkok was full, Hong Kong was full, Singapore was already done by me with spots left for the second choice of configuration. I was thinking "What they hey" and went back to the aircraft page tab and clicked comfirm order...but there was no such thing as the plane I wanted because I took too long to find if I needed it - so someone else got it instead. So now I need to wait until 1973 (game time)to get all my aircraft to me! There will be some more orders in future...but I have to keep my eye on the used aircraft list because those routes get done quickly. I desperately want to do a Singapore-Londone route. There are so much demand!! I probably won't even do a fuel stop on this one!  Well there are lessons that need to be learnt in this game.

I never go for the big airports. I always base in smaller ones that have really good demand that people over look.

I tried that strategy too, but after some time the demand was "full", so I could not have any new routes :(...

well, now I favorize medium to significant Airports if I'm not choosing MUC or JFK ;D
but I think it's also up to the planes you use! I like planes 100pax+, I only sometimes change my mind
everybody got to find his/her own strategy!

I do like medium sized airports too.  LIke CHicago MIdway for example... i can make routes that arent even flowing out of there in real life... cause i live in the Chicago area.  ;D

To continue about the airline disadventure...

I came back from my last summer holiday for this year (  :'( ) with an Alitalia flight Malta - Rome - Milan.

Well, we had scheduled a 1 hour stop in Rome. The plane at Malta departed 1hr 20 mins late, so we got to Rome 1hr 20 mins late; therefore missing our onward connection to Milan. We then learnt that the flight that we were supposed to take to Milan was cancelled, but they said it wasn't a problem as Rome - Milan is a frequently travelled corridor with a plane every 30 mins; so they scheduled us on another plane. When that plane arrived, it was full of the passengers that had booked that flight, so there was no space on board for us or the other passengers of the flight we were supposed to take (the one that was cancelled). Everybody started to get nurvous, and we all started shouting against the first person insight wearing an Alitalia uniform. They then told us that the only plane that was available to ferry us to Milan was a B777. We then waited other 2 hrs at rome waiting for this famous 777 (in the meanwhile we were all shouting as usual against Aliatlia employees). The 777 finally arrived, we boarded, we took off. But, it was not over yet!

We were originally scheduled to arrive in Milan Linate airport, Milan's domestic airport which has a short runway. In the middle of the flight, the captain announced that since the B777 was too big for Linate, we were heading to Malpensa, which is Milan's international airport 47KM away from the city. The passengers abourd the plane (and me too) were furious! People started as usual screaming, shouting, elbowing, gauging, insulting and all you would expect from a late summer fight. At the end, we all asked for the money back, but Alitalia refused since when we were arguing on the plane we did not listen to their instructions to keep calm, so we broke the aviation laws bla bla bla.

I am now finally home! And alive!! I wanted to kiss the ground when I got off the plane, but the tarmac was full of gums and other rubish so I avoided.

;D ;D

that's why they clean the space the pope is expected to kiss the ground

;D ;D

why didn't you fly directly to malta???
I've been there this year too  , and there are flts from all major german airports (such as MUC|FRA|DUS|CGN|TXL|HAM|(seasonally even DTM), so I don't see the point, why there shouldn't be a flt from Linate to Luqa!!

well, on this way you could sit in a 777, wich I couldn't do so far :( :(
the biggest I ever sat in was a 330-200...  :-[
serviced by LTU (sorry Air Berlin by the time ::))... from DUS to LIS and only hmmm?? 10% booked :D :D? thus every passenger had a full row (A-F seat) form him/her all alone!! was quite nice! but the flight back was a torture an quite old extremly loud Avro RJ 85, last row, additionally sound from the 5th engine in the rear, which they remembered switching off for the landing ::) in DUS, 2h30 late :o, and having an crazy wannabe cowboy sitting next to me, chewing his vapid, (ughs! *vomit*) instead of eating the dinner provided (an eve warm lasagne!!), wich didn't taste that good, but was eatable.... :)

so that's why I dislike former LTU!!

sry, that I can only read with half an eye, I'm doing HW (arround 10pages in typegrade 12 MS office), because I didn't want to loose all other hours of the weekend :D :D, but that's life, arround 12PM i should be ready! 8)

I mean this is ten times better than most video games.
to ask for one of the original points of this topic...
what are your favourite computer games in a top three ranking (no online games)??
mine are:

1st OpenTTD (original Transport Tycoon Deluxe from Chris Sawyer, with new interface)
2nd Tom Clancy's HAWX (nice Airfight simulation game)
3rd Counter Strike Source (a little more than CS 1.6; egoshooter)

Ok never flying Altalia when I go to Europe... If I ever go.

Idk if I'll go to europe... I like central america a lot.... Specifically Nicaragua.

Fillipino, a group that went to Nicaragua onte trip had an experience like that coming back.

They were flying American from Managua - Miami - Chicago O'Hare. I flew a different route... on Delta... But that's a different story.

Anyway, they got to Miami and through customs alright. but then th flight to O hare wa delayed because of weather in Miami. Their delay grew from 1 hour to 5 hours... And then the flight was canceled... Not only because of the weAther, but because the PRESIDENT was visiting Chicago. So They shut down o'hare.

They got home to Chicago at 2am the next day. They said it was soo horrible.

Alitalia isn't as bad as it seems. It's just that it cannot be a consistent airline. You sometimes have wonderful flight experiences on board, and sometimes terrible adventures. I don't know if i've gotten used to the type of service, but AZ is still the carrier i prefer when i have to go anywhere (except when the prices are higher than the competition) and i can say i'm satisfied. Maybe I have a different conception of air travel. Sure, it's not SIA but it's not even as terrible as it may seem. The seats especially i find very comfortable, and it's one of the things i look most at. Probably it's because i've seen myself how chaotic the airport environment can be with: slots, delays, handling problems, flight plans losing validity after 30 minutes, traffic, and weather during my pilot training, so i don't get angry anymore when a delay is announced because i understand the issue. I have many stories to tell on the problem  :) . My all time favorite though remains Continental

Central and South America are wonderful, i really would like to visit some places there, especially Costa Rica.

I advise you, what is about to come is one of my first memories as a less than a meter tall boy, and a sad monologue :'(

I remember, that before September 11, Alitalia was a fantastic airline, in perfect shape. I used to fly a lot on it when I was around 3 as my parents and me lived in New york, so we travelled often to Italy to see friends etc.
At the time, everything was new, the planes were the jewels of the time, the interiors were incredible, the service was an example of true hospitality. I remember that on a flight, I still have the ticket from the day in one of my drawers, the date shows 27 July 1999, and the flight was departing JFK bound for Rome at 8:25pm. During the flight, I was given a plastic toy model of a 747. That 747 is one of the toys I remember the most from my childhood, I remember I brought it everywhere, and today it is still with me, there, on my shelf where I keep all of the toy planes. It is lying there, but, the shiny white plastic turned yellow, and the wings are full of dust. That toy resembles Alitalia to my opinion, A magnificent airline, where unfortunately the wrong things appeared, turning it yellow and dusty. In these moments I am picking it up, and I notice that if I clean it, it turns back to it's original splendour; the white goes back to being shiny, the dust disappear, and the engines turn back on. That is what could happen with the true Alitalia, but unfortunately, years of bad decisions, made by people who couldn't care less, or if they cared, nobody would listen to them. This brought the dust on the company. Which should clean itself, as I claned my 747, to bring it back to it's original greatness. Alitalia really needs that severe clean, to get rid of all those old planes, old interiors, delays, scheduling problems, flight cancelles, unwilling crew and all the rest, because, it breaks your heart to see something that could be so nice, which instead is in a state of pity. I know I've critisised AZ, but what can I doo about it? All that I can doo, is hope for a better future, and, mostly, I can continue to polish my 747, which, even if all dusty and yellow, still sitz there with it's nose pointed to the sky, looking for better skies ahead, the same skies as the ones of the good old days.

I got in 2006 when I was 12. I saw the FA passing them out to young kids when I said to my self, "I have to have it!" lol. So I told my mom to ask for one and the FA gave her one.

I can never blow it up all the way though. It's pretty realistic. It has an Austrian flag, an EU flag, and a reg. Number.
