The Speed World opens next Thursday
« on: February 20, 2022, 06:28:30 PM »

The winner of our poll for the next short game is The Speed World. This simulation scenario will open on Thursday February 24th at approximately 17 UTC.

This game world has a faster pace than our standard games, at 20 minutes per each day. The game starts in 1995 and ends in 2025 and the overall play duration is about 5 months.

The setup of this scenario follows a similar theme like the previous Speed World rounds, but with a few twists. The biggest change is that there is only very minimal longhaul passenger demand at the start of the game. The longhaul passenger demand will increase when the game progresses during the first years. The number of used aircraft available at the start of the game is lower than usual.

The first 10 years of the game will follow the standard rules for airline expansion, but in January 2005 the whole world will be opened for new base airport expansions.

All airports globally and all aircraft models included.

The restriction on long haul demand is probably in order to push "Speed World" a bit towards "Regional Challenge". However, combined with the low aircraft availability on the used market, it might spoil the whole idea of a "Speed World", no?

Perhaps a Speed world Regional challenge with plenty of aircraft ?
