Denver, Colorado - 25 June 1965 - TransAir today proudly announces the introduction of scheduled passenger services with the advanced McDonnell Douglas DC-9, alongside the unveiling of a striking new corporate identity that reflects the airline's continued leadership in the jet age.

Building upon its pioneering role in early jet operations, TransAir now brings the modern, short-to-medium range DC-9 into service from its headquarters in Denver, further strengthening its growing network across the United States. Designed for efficiency, speed, and passenger comfort, the new aircraft enables more frequent services and improved connectivity between major cities and regional destinations alike.

"The introduction of the DC-9 marks another important step forward for TransAir," said CEO Jamie Lawrence. "The DC-9 allows us to offer the benefits of pure jet travel on an even greater number of routes, with the reliability and refinement our passengers have come to expect from TransAir." On the subject of partnering with Douglas during their merger with McDonnell Aircraft, Lawrence added, "We are delighted to once again, partner with Douglas Aircraft; we're excited by their product roadmap and anticipate a long and productive relationship into the future."

Donald W. Douglas Jr, President of Douglas Aircraft added "The introduction of the DC-9 marks an important milestone for Douglas Aircraft and for commercial aviation. It is especially gratifying to see an airline such as TransAir place its confidence in the DC-9." Further elaborating, Douglas Jr. continued, "We are delighted to welcome TransAir as one of our valued airline partners. As Douglas Aircraft enters an exciting new chapter and prepares for its future alongside McDonnell Aircraft, relationships with forward-looking carriers such as TransAir will be central to our continued success. We look forward to working closely together for many years to come as we shape the next generation of commercial aviation."

In conjunction with this fleet expansion, TransAir is pleased to present a new visual identity - symbolizing progress, precision, and the forward momentum of modern air travel. The updated livery, launching on the DC-9 and soon rolling out across the full TransAir domestic and international fleet, introduces a clean, contemporary fuselage design complemented by a bold red, white, and blue motif. The newly designed TransAir insignia and logotype reflect both speed and unity, embodying the airline's commitment to innovation and national connectivity. This new design also includes a fully painted fuselage and aircraft underbelly, reducing dependency on regular polishing and maintenance. The associated efficiencies of these changes will enable TransAir to continue offering the best value air fares across our network.

Passengers traveling aboard the new DC-9 services will enjoy swift boarding, smooth jet-powered performance, and a refined cabin environment tailored for today's traveler. The aircraft's versatility allows TransAir to expand service frequencies while maintaining the high standards of punctuality and dependability for which it is known.

From its principal base in Denver, supported by operations in Seattle, Charlotte, Newark & San Francisco, TransAir continues to grow as one of America's most progressive and innovative airlines - bringing communities closer together through modern air transport.

As this new chapter begins, TransAir reaffirms its promise to the traveling public: wherever one may journey, for whatever purpose, and at whatever time, TransAir will provide service that is faster, more comfortable, more dependable, and of outstanding value - delivering passengers safely and efficiently to their destination.
