Title: Boeing 737 cargo only
Post by: vokdalg on February 14, 2026, 03:31:49 PM
Hi everybody!

I need a cargo only version of 737. As far as I understand a conversion a passenger version of 737-800 to cargo version is the only option. I just want to be sure that I understand it right. So I order new 737-800 from Boeing and as soon as I get it I upgrade 737-800 passenger version to a cargo version, right?
The same way it works with the used plane I suppose.

yep. And as you suggest, a used one words just as well. Since the conversion includes a D check, a lot of people find pax planes they are using and convert them just before the D check.

Well, I got 737-800 in leasing but I don't see any upgrade option to convert it into cargo version. Should I buy this plane instead of leasing it?

You cannot do major changes or upgrades to planes you do not own (obviously). So yes, you must buy it.
