Why are the available C 46 and B 377 in the used market all freighters! it does not make any sense at this point when every one is scrambling for decent airliners

Yes it makes sense. Historically, those are ex military planes from WWII, a lot were available in the market at that time. Maybe useless to us, but accurate.

Historically Comet 1, Lockeed Electra s and Boeing 377's crashed in significant numbers, but thats not happening here ...

Is not necessary
Airlines that use these types of planes will crash themselves  ;D

I am with you on that...but at the moment, out of temporary desperation I am using a few B 377, which will be disposed ASAP !

I did succesfully vanquish opposition in previous games using B377 and Comets. You make me want to try Electras for an upcoming game (they don't fit my current strategy).
