On 3 of the major routes i fly on (with lots of demand)
route 1 - monopoly of 8 daily flights, RI 79, 90-100% demand met, 60% LF
route 2 - monopoly of 6 daily flights, RI 85, 80-90% demand met. 68% LF
route 3 - shared with one other airline, 4 daily flights, RI 93, 80% total demand met, 98% LF!!
Any insights?
Just stating the Load Factor alone means nothing. The sold seats on each route depend on many different things, and the LF is only the end results of seats available vs. seats sold, and comparing two/three different routes like this isn't possible.
But there is no special benefit of being alone on a route vs. having competition.
