Title: Fuel 45 pct up in 1 week
Post by: Aero on September 17, 2024, 10:39:20 AM
How is it possible that in 1 game week the fuel price goes up by 45.5% from $66 to $96.
This is unlikely to be a natural way.

It's happened in pretty much every game world I've ever been in. Always hedge day one.

I don't know about always hedging on day 1.  If the OP had started a week later the fuel would have immediately dropped!  I'd say watch the market and get a feel for what's happening. When you're small, hedging makes little difference, so there's no rush.

Now taking out a Supplier Contract - that I ALWAYS do on day 1, even before scheduling any aircraft, if a good one is offered.  The monthly fee is calculated on how much fuel you are currently using and stays fixed (doesn't increase with fleet size).  You can end up with a REALLY good discount for basically no cost.  The same level of discount will cost a LOT more, even when you have 15 or 20 aircraft in your fleet.  If you can get one that's at least -7% for 2.5 to 3 years, at ANY cost, it will save you $$$ millions. Well, a lot anyway.

Fuel contracts are good deals between.
Always calculate because sometimes cost more then actually earn.
