Hello,
I have tried to search but I have not found anything on this.
Something I have noticed lately is that the A320-200 lacks some engine options and is launched with versions that did not exist at the time.
These are the versions of the A320-200 CFM (non Neo) according to the type certificate with EASA (https://www.easa.europa.eu/sites/default/files/dfu/TCDS_EASA%20A%20064_%20Airbus_%20A318_A319_A320_A321_Iss_47.pdf):
Version | A320-211 | A320-212 | A320-214 | A320-215 | A320-216 |
Engine | CFM 56-5A1 | CFM 56-5A3 | CFM 56-5B4 | CFM 56-5B5 | CFM 56-5B6 |
Certification | Launch | 31 January 1990 | 10 May 1992 | 22 December 2005 | 22 December 2005 |
However, what seems to be the case is that the in game A320 is only available as -212 and -214 versions, and both from the A320-200 launch.
The 5A1 engine version is not available at all on the -200 despite being the launch power plant, however, the engine is available on the -100. I am not sure if the other versions are added later, but I don't think so if I remember correctly.
For the IAE, the story is about the same. The launch engine, the V2500-A1 is not possible to order, but the V2527-A5 is that was launched in 1992 is at the launch.
So it would be a really nice thing to at least correct the issue with the 1992 CFM engine being available from launch so you actually see an improvement to new build airframes as you go.
Edit:
This is the closest thread I found which was set to OK, however, the implementation does not seem to be done?

The engine launch date feature has been added only some years ago so 95% of the models have similar inaccuracies where all the engine variants are available from day 1. But these can be updated always when more data is available so feel free to dig these for me.
