Title: Pre-Schedule Transfer of Flight Schedule Between A/C
Post by: Bruizer on February 11, 2021, 09:59:26 PM
I would find it very useful to be able to pre-setup a transfer of one aircraft's schedule to another and have it become effective at a given date/time.

For example, as a small carrier, I am planning to move one of my aircraft's entire schedule to a new plane when it arrives.  That will be in the middle of the (real) night here so I would love to be able to say at XXXXX time, please transfer this schedule from AC1 to AC2.

To take the notion a bit further, we could then set up a bunch of changes like this to occur at the most opportune time and, thereby, have a more realistic implementation of fleet schedule changes because it wouldn't have to wait for me to physically log in to make the changes at the right time.

I think this feature idea supports a real-life attribute that could bring more realism to the simulation.  A real airline would have full time staff to make sure a newly arrived aircraft didn't sit idle on the ground for several days until the CEO woke up and came to work :)

PS
Some might suggest I simply assign new routes to the new aircraft, which we can already set up ahead of time.  Very true, but I usually put my best-performing routes on my newest aircraft and so the newly arriving aircraft will be inheriting existing routes from other aircraft in my fleet (usually a whole schedule stays together and moves aircraft).  I usually put newer routes on my older/smaller aircraft until they generate the pax revenue to justify the nicer birds.  Thanks for considering the idea.

I like the idea.  This would be useful when you are terminating a lease on arrival of a new plane.  While you are at it, it would be nice if you can then also pre-schedule the early termination of the lease once once the schedule has been transferred,
