In real life, do airlines order 100 each of 2 types of aircraft all at the same time?
Do they get all 100 in a row before other airlines?

No, they get delivered over time, it doesn't neccesairly go 100 for Airline1 then 100 for airline2, it would be more like 2 for airline1, 2 for Airline2, 2 for Airline 1 etc. (unless the airline and manufacturer have some other agreement).
The reason for this is the same as in game, the airlines cant open routes for 100 planes at the same time, so they would be left on the ground for a while, generating losses.
I believe this was part of the new system that Sami is working on. So should work more reallistically in next game.
