This seems (and therefore probably is) dumb... but I don't see any way to like a post that has not already been liked.
e.g. if someone else has already liked a post, I can hover over that like count and click like to like the post myself. But if the post hasn't been liked, I don't see any "like" button.

top right of the message box, you should see 'like this post' and 'quote'
Ah, OK, thanks.. I only see Quote.. there's no "like this post" shown. I'm trying to take a screenshot but Windows snipping tool / snip and sketch are woefully useless on a multiple monitor setup, it seems.
Got it eventually... that's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back!
Well, this got me thinking.. like I said, dumb.. AdGuard was blocking it.

Yeah, ad blockers are weird. I had one that for a while blocked the link to the Marketing page in-game. That was a head-scratcher until I thought to turn off the ad-blocker for all of airwaysim.com
