Title: Question about forums
Post by: Sami on April 24, 2009, 04:40:39 AM
How long would you like me to keep the game forums and press release forums of the old games (1-3) visible / active in the forums?

Mm.. Id say 1-2 weeks after the next game has started (In general). After that, everyone has made the jump to the new forums so there not needed anymore.

Dunno what everyone else thinks..

I say lock them so no new posts can be made to them. If space is not an issue leave them. Its part of AWS history. Some of them were quite humorous.

If space is an issue I say as long as there is reference to the first 3 games on the Front page/game info pages.

The press releases are pretty useless after the game, but the general game forums can have some interesting topics, that are not necessarily related to only that game, so if you can keep (and lock) the general game forum, so that the posts there are included in the search function, it would prevent having to post the same messages/questions in each different game.

I like Talentz's idea.
What about if you put the old stuff in its own forum or little area, so that it would make the whole AWS forum look a bit cleaner but retain the old stuff at the same time?

That's a good idea... Although I really don't see a need for them. It's just wasted space in my opinion. I'd suggest, as Talentz said, give it a few days to give everyone enough time to migrate over (although I can't imagine there are people who still haven't).

Good idea, that way they should still be searchable, and we don't have to see them all on the forum index.
