Title: 767-200/ER for ~230 pax Europe Routes?
Post by: rntair on March 20, 2019, 04:24:51 PM
Hello,

Realizing that my A330s are bit too big to reach into some lower demand routes outside Western Europe. Thinking that the 767-200 (possibly -ER) may be able to fill these routes. I am a bit apprehensive about fuel efficiency- ~4700kg/hour seems like a lot for a smaller plane, as I would be configuring them with around 200 seats. I am based in toronto and range would not a be a concern, and with the -200ER I could even reach JApan and China. The price is low enough to where I would be able to buy them new. Is the 767-200/ER a good fleet choice to fill these transatlantic routes with less demand?

Thanks,
rntair

the difference for me is range. The 767 family maxes out at 7000nm. Airbus 340HGW can go to 9000nm. So the 330 can get to some places the 767 has no chance at. Both have freighter versions so that's a tick.

I'd say the A380 is perfectly suited for this mission.

That is actually very good fuel efficiency. I've always found the 767-200er to be excellent for low demand long range routes plus you can upgrade in future to the larger -300 and -400 series when needed.

At the cost of range yes.

Recently the 767's received a nerf in the way of fuel economy though.
