Could this fleet-and-route plan be possible for an AirwaySim airline?

This is basically a list of every Airbus or Boeing plane made in the past 60 years. Cap your fleet types at 3, and save yourself heartbreak by not flying A380 or Concorde, and probably 747 from the 1970s. Don't generalize your route plan by aircraft manufacturer- your route plan is 737, A320, or MD80/90 on medium haul domestic, wide body (not A380 or 747) on international to Europe/Asia, and throw in some CRJs or EJets for regional.

Also, did I mention not to fly the Concorde? Don't fly the Concorde.

Concorde is practically impossible to make profit on outside of LHR and in some instances JFK or EWR. Just don't do it.

Why would you still want to fly the 707 in 2035? That is if somehow the production line would still be open by 2000.

Its not about the number of bankruptcies.. its more about the bounce-backability :D

I get the joke re: Southeast Airlines.  Can anyone explain why they keep doing that, and then restarting in the same spot?

I wonder what'd happen if I spend some credits and reserve the name Southeast Airlines, just for kicks...

Would South East Airlines be allowed?

You better reserve both names to be safe.

Emily,
It really depends on the base you choose and whether those aircraft are appropriate for the routes available there.

How about this?

Fleet:

  • Tupolev Tu-204 (domestic and regional routes)
  • Airbus A350 (other routes)

Not sure about Tu choice, but otherwise (replacing Tu with something more competitive), it would fine for airport with good international pax demand.

But from airport where you are based at now, not a good fit.  You should think about a fleet with a good Freighter (and those are few and far between).

I haven't posted in the general forum for some time now, so I'll reveal a possible fleet plan that's hopefully more fuel-efficient as we reach the 3rd millennium in-game:

That seems a lot more sensible! You won't want to try and do 3 fleet transitions at a time though, best to space them out.

The Comet until the mid-80s is still 100% suicide, though.

There's no point in operating only Comets until the mid 80s or flying a300s for just 9 years.

Right now you only have 3 CV240s, so you might wanna replace them with something similar in size but faster in speed and try to expand a little.

This is putting it lightly, They're suicide when they're new.

I haven't posted in the general forum for some time now, so I'll reveal a possible fleet plan that's hopefully more fuel-efficient as we reach the 3rd millennium in-game:

  • de Havilland Comets (short-haul from 1966 to 1985 in-game)
  • Airbus A300s (medium-haul from 1976 to 1985 in-game)
  • ATR 42s (short-haul from 1986 to 2005 in-game)
  • Boeing 767s (medium-haul from 1986 to 2005 in-game)
  • Embraer E-Jets (short-haul from 2006 onwards in-game)
  • Airbus A330s (medium-haul from 2006 onwards in-game)
  • Boeing 777s (long-haul from 2006 onwards in-game)

-Emily (age 15)

Combine A330/B767/777 into one or two fleet types. Use 767 for 3500-6000nm routes and 777 for 6000nm+ routes. Or forget about doing long-haul as it is mostly for vanity and adds little to the bottom line except in certain cases. Use 764 for 3500-5000nm routes with ~270/80+ demand, 763 for 3500-6000nm routes with ~230-280 demand, and possibly 762 if you really want to operate routes reaching up to 6700nm. A333 is good but the fleet type doesn't have any model comparable to the 763 that can carry 240 passengers. A343E is underrated IMHO for long haul and is has efficiency on par to 77L if you really want to do long haul.
