9 days ago, I was admitted to hospital for a routine operation. In recovery, the incision developed an infection, which kept me in for over a week. I logged in fleetingly to try and buy planes off people, and to list them, but that was it.
Today I have a look and see my gw1 airline is destroyed, because I didn't click the automatically raise salaries. I'm sad, but also mad because it's such a silly error and totally my fault >:(. I guess I'll laugh about it later....
Keep the button ticked peeps, yeh it'll cost you an extra 1% in wages or something, but you never know when you'll need it!
Preaching to the choir, dear friend. I can spend hours & hours micromanaging prices, but I don't micromanage salaries. Ever. Too dangerous.
Put the game and the airlines aside, sincerely hope you can get well soon ;)
Yeah, micro'ing wages is a pain and really not that worth it when your a large airline with CI100.
There's uses for it, but at the very top, its better to do other things to maintain your edge.
Hope you recover quickly!!

Thanks. I'm on the mend, antibiotics are not what they used to be alas.
Regarding my airlines, it's hard because both my gw1 and gw2 airlines are over 1 real life year old. No matter how menial this game is, and how pointless the endeavour, to see it go belly up in a puff of smoke like that is upsetting. It shouldn't be, but it is.
I'm too sad to even look at gw1 right now :( . I'll probably just get drunk tomorrow and hit the kill switch and forget about the whole thing.
It doesn't look super dead. You've got cash... Is everything unscheduled or something?

I "micro" wages... it saves some money and I hate the feeling of inefficiency (the HR staff are so incompetent with the excessive raises--seems like a glitch that should be fixed??).
I just check the wages once every few days and accept the wage increase requests when morale hits ~90. The raise instantly boosts it back to ~100.
But yes, if you're going to be gone for more than a few days, you have to set Auto Wages and pay the price.

Looking at your GW1 airline, it should recover just fine. It may just take between 1 and 2 years for the CI, RI, and morale to fully recover. But you have enough cash to wait it out.

I put off raises until morale hits 55/60 or when I get strike warnings (I get email notifications for it). Less motivated staff asks less payraises, that's what I think.
But out of the 3 game worldsbI currently play, I have only one with manual raises. Will turn to auto soon after the next raise, as micromanagement of that airline is not necessary anymore.
