Title: No demand between CPH and Greenland???
Post by: Knud B on August 15, 2018, 07:50:25 AM
There is no estimated demand between Copenhagen and Greenland... Why not?
Greenland is a part of Kingdom of Denmark and in real life there is a lot of passenger and cargo trafic from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq.
Air Greenland fly daily to the 2 destinations with an Airbus 330

Demand is partially based no city demand and size. I'm not sure if sami got Greenland figures.

Also, using a Airbyus A330 doesn't mean it's full. Greenland carries a lot of cargo by plane and an A330 is a good way to bring tons of them.

Finally, even if Sami has figures for Greenland it may be yearly average. Most tourist will travel to Greenland in the two of three months of summer. The remaining of the year is flat and not successfull. Otherwise Norvegian, Easyjet an Ryanair would have entered the market

79.000 tourists yearly by air... Mostly from Europe, probably  = via CPH.
And a lot of cargo... Greenland has almost no industry and has to import almost everything.

Beyond the right demand or such, the fact is that the old static system won't be changed for minor inaccuracies or errors like this one (and believe me, every player got his share :)).
They sure are painful, but Sami puts all his energy in the implementation of the new city based demand system (for pax).
Only major flaws of the current system are still corrected.
