This is the first game I have been invited to Join an Alliance in your opinions does it prove to be benificial inthe long run?

I find it beneficial in 90% of the GW's I have played

You have nothing to lose by accepting the invitation. A chance for you to contribute your game experience to the relevant alliance, and benefit from your membership. Go for it.
