1980s Challenge scenario opens on Friday August 3rd» Pre-join here (https://www.airwaysim.com/game/?gView=275#game275)(https://www.airwaysim.com/content/images/misc/2018-08_1980s.jpg)
This time in our rotating series of
mini-games we are setting up a new theme. Bring in the mullets and watch out for the yuppies - it's time to play in the 1980s!
The
1980s Challenge starts in January 1980 and you can play through the whole decade, up until December 1989. The overall play time, with 30 minutes per simulated day, is approximately 2½ months. The regions of North America, Europe and Asia are included in the simulation. There are no political or geographical restrictions on where you can open your bases.
This scenario will open at approximately 10 UTC on August 3rd. You can pre-join already now to reserve your spot and to be notified of the launch.
» Pre-join 1980s Challenge (https://www.airwaysim.com/game/?gView=275#game275)In the meantime you can set yourself into the mood of the decade with these few clips from the past:
- British Caledonian (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8y1CANyq-k), flying The Beach Boys style
- Alaska Airlines (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZZ3L2XEKbA), how they predicted the future
hahahah funny ads! Pre-joined :)
So does it mean that demand to/from South America & Oceania would be zeroed out or is it just that you won't be able to open bases there?
Only airports in the mentioned regions are available, routes to other areas are not available.
Will USSR restrictions in routing apply (so only SVO has demand from other places) or is it a free for all?
Sounds cool!
Hope some of the classic aircraft of the 70s would still be in production when the game starts: Tridents, Mercure ...
Thanks!
Mike
