Three of the four game worlds currently in progress are ultra-long, with lengths of between 75 and 85 in game years or one and a half RL years. Personally, I think this length is far too long to be interesting near the end as the battles are mostly fought and everyone's already established. I find the earlier parts of the game much more interesting and I think hosting 40-50 year game worlds for most main game worlds instead of the ultra long 80 year ones would help keep the game fresher, as well as have game worlds start more frequently.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on this?
Game World #3 starts in 1998 and runs 38 years. The real-time length of that game is about 9 months. It also has the lowest number of players out of the 4 main game worlds.
Most of the long-time players asked for longer games that spanned aircraft eras to make multiple fleet renewals a necessity. But hopefully there's another shorter-length special scenario coming soon like the recently finished Regional Challenge.
A 1986-2036 game would be ideal.
Enough time to establish before the 2001 crisis, 1998 only gives three years.
I find the early years more interesting so, for a shorter game, would prefer something like 1945-1980.

Same here. I'm finding it difficult to stay in a game past the 80s as there's no way to BK after or frankly even be challenged.

Well, I kinda like the challenge of starting at the worse possible time, but of course, 1986 would be nice as well. A radically different kind of game, though, especially in Europe.
Very long games are cool another way, you have to manage several transitions, and after a certain time, your main opponent is yourself.
Mini-challenges are not very challenging, and are more there to refine your skills or hunt for achievements. Still interesting for trying things without messing up with rookies in beginner's games.
I think both long GWs and mid-length (like 86-2036) are interesting. However, the turnover with 3 ultra long GW and 1 mid-length is really low.
And special scenarios, on the other hand, are a little short.
So no matter what the dates are (that's another topic, in my opinion), either 2 UL games and 2 ML games would be better, or add a 5th GW, with 3 UL and 2 ML.
